The maiden Made in Africa and African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA ) Grand Sale Exhibition and Conference which held at the International Conference Centre, Accra, Ghana, was indeed a truly inspiring event. Themed “Financing Women in Trade, Manufacturing and Investment”, it aimed to rally African governments to build on the peace of the continent to facilitate trade development and empower women-owned businesses.
Lasting for two days, it brought together industry players and stakeholders from across the world to deliberate on challenges with regard to continental trade and its improvement and was attended by over 20 exhibitor companies with varied interests ranging from clothing and textiles to artefacts, footwear and cosmetics, among several others.
Among the keynote speakers at the event was our MD/CEO, Mrs. Ngozi Oyewole. Speaking at the event she called on stakeholders of the AfCFTA to encourage effective border communication to allow easy flow of trade. She also stressed the need for a proper policy to be put in place to eliminate sexual harassment and gender-based violence in the economy.

This built on the welcome address and introductory speech delivered by Mr. Louis Afful, the Executive Director of APN, during which he lauded the participants for championing intra-African trades and fostering entrepreneurship across member states.
In all, the event was a huge success thanks to it strategic panel sessions, keynote speeches and opportunity for networking. We are grateful to the organizers and cannot wait for next year’s edition.
